An historic day
Today in history, the Constitution of the United States of America was not ratified. No, that event took place, and was recently remembered without much fanfare, on 21 June 1788. What is remembered for happening on 4 July 1776 is the ratification of the Declaration of Independence.
I could wax on all philosophical about the differences between those two cornerstone documents and how our views of them are telling of the nature of the American people even today. I won't do that, though, because my main reason for posting today is to recycle a couple documents from my own archives. They are fittingly government-related:
